Unit 3 – Fossils and Dinosaurs (revisited)

In groups of 4 – 5, pupils filled up a KWL chart.

While on the W column, they were curious and wondered about fossils and dinosaurs. They had numerous questions:

1) How do palaentologist get the dinosaur skeleton to stand up?
2) How long does it take scientists to find the dinosaur fossils?
3) What was the first dinosaur to live on earth?
4) Why did the dinosaurs become extinct?
5) How many types of dinosaurs were there long ago?
6) What is the weight of the largest dinosaur?
7) Why are dinosaurs named as such?
8) How do scientists know whether dinosaurs eat plants or meat? (we read about this in our Homework book)
9) How do dinosaurs sleep?

Some of the above questions were not answered in the textbook.

Were you able to find answers to some of your questions from other sources?

Here’s a website for you to get started.
